GUEST POST: Kellie And Her Shakey Foundations

I trekked for miles trough wilderness, climbed dangerous mountain terrains searching high and low for a foundation to cover my devil spots or feckels to everyone else that wouldnt leave me looking like heath ledger as the joker with cracked lines all over my face whenever i showed any expression (cough..cough MAC, Elizabeth Arden etc..).Finally i just said screw it and popped into SuperDrug in the omni after receiving a wink n' a nudge to try GOSH X-ceptional wear make up;colour extra extra pale for the low low price of like 9 juro with no complaints from this neck of the woods on the price esp with sh*t load of skin tones to choose from not just 17 types of brown to match that dodgy cheap tan you bought in Euroworld thinking it wont actually come out that dark right?!!
Anyways it did a ronseal job and covered freckels AND dark circles with the bonus of lasting all day but... there's a but there's always a bloody but...despite it been superfantastic and light on the skin you gota act fast putting it on it its strangely watery in consistency but once u place it on your face it seems to go into over drive drying onto your skin, you'll need a make up brush for this one too sponges are just gona drink this foundation not to mention there pants for your skin cause ya cant wash em ewww!!! Also
if u blend your make up like oh so many don't we wont have any trouble long story short i taught it was the bees knees for now...known me ill get board with it like so many before, forever exploring the world of high street make up to reach my impossible standards of trying to look airbrushed with a budget under 20 bills

swatch of the lipgloss
the Exaggerate Eye Liner comes in a twisty pen style and its the colour Ocean and its a shiny Navy Blue......
Ocean
They Metallic Eye Gloss is my favorite, its the colour Soho, its a really sheer Baby Pink, so pretty, but it was so subtle i couldnt really capture it on camera, so you'll just have to believe me....

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra and Lamcome Hypnose Drama Mascara :And a crap load of free stuff

While on my quest to find a nice foundation with excellent coverage and a matte finish i came across my local lancome counter, Id read glowing reviews on the Teint Idole Ultra 24hr foundation and it sounded like it would be exactly what im looking for, So after trying a couple of medium shades i settled on 035, (dying to leg it home and try it i was) , also while i was there i asked the Sales Assistant (Lorraine who i know from school) to recommend a nice mascara for me, as i wanted it for nights out and special occasions i wanted a mascara that was like max factor false lash effect but i wanted it even better (cos im greedy like that) so Lorraine recommended Hypnose Drama for it Volume giving properties.
Now you all know how i love free stuff, So i was fit to flippin burst when she put a bag of mini samples into my absolutely gorgeous little lancome carrier bag, OH MY JAYSIS was i delighted, here is a pic of all my freebies.......
Christmas Morning
There was a Genifique and Visionnaire serum, a Genifique eye cream, a cleanser and a toner, a mini moisturiser, a juicy tubes lip gloss and a mini hypnose mascara, It felt like christmas morning...
Anyway on to the foundation, I dotted it on all over and blended with my stipple brush (which i have gone back to using, more on that later) Its silky velvety texture glides on flawlessly and it can be bult up seamlessly to provide more cover, Oh holy mother i think ive found my Holy Grail foundation at last WOO HOO,
Heres a pic of it in action ...
Now you see freckle
now you dont
The mascara is amaaaaazing think false lash effect but a more classy version and this can also be touched up through out the day with out clumping and all the assoiated jazz...
Anyway i can see myself becoming a Lancome addict after this, the only thing i didnt like is the disticnt fragrance the products have, but it doesnt last long so the bridge has been built and im over it.
The foundation was 35.50 and mascara was 24.50
                                     Peace Out x

Bourjois: Bringing me chocolate without the calories

Who the feck doesnt like the smell of chocolate??
With Easter just gone you,d think id be sick of it, but no, being the little piggy that i am, i just cant get enough of the stuff, but with a holiday coming up im trying to watch the pounds, so chocolate smelling cosmetics will have to do, Bring in the Bourjois Delice de poudre (bronzer to you and me)
It looks like a little bar of chocolate and smells like hot chocolate (flippin amazeballs)
The only thing is i cant wear a bronzer on my face, i hate the feel of powder on my face, it doesnt matter how little i use, i can feel the powdery texture on my skin, but i could just get away with using it as a blush for a summer glow, and it gives a beautiful warm tan look to my pasty mug..
But best of all it LOOKS AND SMELLS OF CHOCOLATE... and i like it

                               Peace out xx

2 Mac Single EyeShadows

I dont have a big fancy Mac pallet with 7 thousand eyeshadows in it, mainly because im in no way loyal to any one brand and i like to have different shadows all different colours from all different brands,
Recently i purchased 2 mac singles in there pretty mac pots, I picked up and navyish colour with what looks like a smattering (its a word) of rose gold flecks through it, that one is called Blue Edge and it has a velvet finish,
Nocturnelle and Blue Edge
The other one i picked up is a Purpley colour with a frosty finish called Nocturnelle, both were purchased to acheive the smokey eye effect as there quite dramatic colours, here is a swatch on my pasty white arm...
I didnt really have loads of time to do a proper look with them but i did kind of want you to see what they were like on actual eyelids so behold............
Nocturnelle with a Little silver shadow alond the lashline
Blue Edge (and what looks like a huge nose)
My thoughts? Well pigmented colour best for a night out with the girls as there quite dramatic colours although im sure they will at some stage make it to daytime make up

                                 Peace Out xx

Isa-Dora glow sticks my new favorite blush

Isa-Dora is not a brand that i really think much about, not that there crap or anything, i just dont see much of there stuff around, so today while in a uni-care pharmacy i had a good gansy at what was on the Isa-Dora stand. A little bit more expensive than your mabeline and loreal but not as exprnsive as lancome or clarins.
What really caught my eye was the glowstick blusher, I dont really like powder blushers as any powered substance on my face makes me look like Patchy Patcherson, So whenever a cream blush croses my path im sure to pick it up, The added bonus of it having a highlight effect pleased me no end, as a wearer of full coverage matte foundation a bit of false shine is welcomed with open arms.
I picked up the rosebud colour and it give a beautiful warm flush to the cheeks, I just dotted on the cheek and blended gently with my finger.
You can find the Glowstick (cant write that word without thinking about the raves of the 90s) at various pharmacys nationwide for 15.50, sure you cant go wrong.

                                                         Peace out x

At least you can look as if you've been away :-)

I have found the solution to all our problems in a bottle of He Shi tan. If like me you were born in the wrong country........Ireland, then you probably have the misfortune of being really really pale, just like me. However I have done you a favour and tried and tested He Shi tan and I can honestly say I'll never cheat on it.

Its perfect for our ghost like skin. It doesn't look orange, it doesn't streak and lasts for AGES!!!! And the best bit, it was only 28 euro! Obviously I can only speak for us pale types, but for pale skin this is the perfect solution. Go out and buy it now.......go........quick........GO!!!!!!!

Avon haul

Well as if you have not guessed by now Louise is my Avon lady, and following on from her post during the week id like to show you the delights she bestowed upon me last night.
As im in my early thirties im constantly looking to slow down the aging process and ive benn hearing good thing about the Anew Genics range, normally quiet pricey, but they had a great deal in the april catalogue so i was in there like swim wear to pick up there Treatment Concentrate and the Treatment Cream,
The Treatment Concentrate, promising to make you look 10 years younger and acts in 24 hours to visibly reduce the key signs of aging, (ill pass for 22 tomorrow woohoo)
The Treatment Cream, to be worn over the concentrate promises the same 10 years younger miracle and warns of a slight tingling sensation, I found it stung slightly on the upper cheeks (does this mean its stripping away the years?)
Staying with the Anew brand, they have a make up range too which boasts anti-aging ingredients, i picked up the Skin Transforming Primer (i now officially have a primer addiction), The primer is cream in texture and turns velvety on the skin and boasts of having skin tansforming tecnology, I have yet to use this primer with all my different foundations but it went well with my Estee laurder double wear, its normally 19 euro but i got a sneaky deal and only had to shell out 13 euro (bargain).
swatch of the Primer and the eye pencil
On to the make up, Now i DID order a gel eyeliner to go with the eye liner brush but dizzy dora forgot to put it in the bag for me (i think its a bit of a samantha brick situation there lol)
From the Colortrend range i bought and eyeshadow pencil called Shine On Eyes in the colour purple star, you can wear it along the lash line or you can use it to cotour your eye along the crease, it has great pigmentation and will last all day, Finally on to the Super Extend Extreme Mascara which built my lashes in volume and lenght but still left them soft and panda proof,
So there you have it, no doubt ill be back soon with more from Avon.. Also sorry about the photos im no use at taking pictures,
                                                      Peace out x

Ding Dong Avon Calling!!!!!!!

Here is a post by our first guest writer Louise Dunne ...Enjoy!
Some people think of old biddies when they hear Avon! Well go ahead and wipe that thought from your head! Avon suits all ages! And one of the great things is....you dont have to wait til January sales to pick up a bargain..avon prices are great and their sales are even better! For a nice relaxing night in you have a great selection on Planet Spa face treats, lovely bubble baths which are great prices and last yonks!! Also, try the Naturals shampoo, conditioner, hair masks and balms. The new care and repair shampoo and conditioning mask is amazing! Treat your hair to caring herbal infusions with extracts of calming chamomile and moisturising aloe vera for lovely tresses! Now for the best part...MAKE UP! You can express your true colours with the Colortrend range...the affordable make up. You can get concealer, cream foundation, pressed powder, nail varnish, eyeshadow, mascara and lipgloss all for under 20euro for the lot! No need to rob the next Brinks van you see. They also do a great product called Magix Face Perfector. It really is magic! A-maze-ing!! Now...im the type of girl that LOVES great big daddy long leg lashes BUT- i wouldnt trust myself with the false ones! Me+glue+eyes=big disaster! I can see myself in A&E now with my eyes glued shut! SO.....i opt for Avon Supershock Mascara in Black! Great price, great quality, and more importantly - SUPER lashes....minus the glue and visit to A&E!! So girlies, give avon a go. I guarantee you'll be hooked!

The Good The Bad and The Cheap and Nasty

All the new budget make up ranges got me to thinking about my own recent purchase of a benefit concealer which set me back 24 yoyos which left me broke at the time, My boyfriend was horrified when i told him how much the tiny pot cost me and he questioned why i needed it when i already owned 3 other different concealers, so i had to explain to him this was my "good" concealer for important things nights out ect.
I have 3 (or 4 sometimes) of every type of make up, from primers to lipgloss and it all ranges from the essesnce  range from pennys up to chanel and in between we have the normal stuff from boots and the likes,
I wear make up every day so different situations call for different make up, going to the gym (yes even the gym)  i would just wear a cheapish BB cream and some cream blush from n.y.c that cost me 3.49 ....
School runs and meeting friends for coffee call for mid range stuff and nights out which are rare i use the higher end stuff...Does everyone one do this or am i a lunatic??? I own 11 differnent foundations alone.. do i really need that many?
Who else is a lunatic like me???
                                 peace out x

Oh soap and glory..is there anything you cannot do??

Its not secret that I love everything from soap and glory, I love it all. When I die, my idea of heaven is to sit on my fluffy cloud and have my angel (preferably a half naked man by the name of Freddie Flintoff) pamper me in all things soap and glory. Ahhhh blisssss........
Well when I saw that soap and glory brought out a new concealer I had to have it!!

And my god Im so glad I got it, its the business. Its a 3 step concealer, the 1st step for making old eyes look young, the 2nd is to hide all the horrible blemishes and 3rd is a very light lovely powder. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT and if you're like me, and your face is just one big giant blemish then Im confident your gonna love it too.
well done S&G you've only gone and done it again :-)

Stay gorgeous girls.......and not just on the inside. laters xxx

History of the little black dress

History of the Little Black Dress
The first little black dress was created in 1920s, Paris, by Chanel and Jean Patou. It quickly became a "uniform for all females of style," as Vogue fashion magazine predicted at that time.
Prior to the 1920s, the colour black was only worn in periods of mourning. Ladies who wore black had been regarded as sinful or indecent. Right after the very first world war, and also the outbreak of Spanish Influenza, it became typical in France to notice girls wearing black for lengthy intervals of time, along with the stigma lifted somewhat.

A portion of the "anti-corset" generation, Chanel invented a lot of women's design as we know it.
She once explained her work as "nothing much more than transforming men's clothes into women's jackets, haircuts, ties and cuffs." She laboured hard to develop clothes both basic and innovative, even if they produced scandal.

Females had been drawn towards the dress by its simplicity, elegance and price. Some years later on, the Great Depression forced a lot of people to economize, which increased the popularity of the little black dress like a low cost approach to look wise.
Coco Chanel. Nettie Rosenstein, a new York-based designer, popularized the dress in the USA. Although some claim she invented the dress before Chanel, the evidence is slim. Elsa Schiaparelli, Chanel's rival, put her own fantastic twist on the LBD, by introducing a wrap-around version.
"Chanel's Ford," as the press then called it, had lengthy sleeves. Subsequent decades have eliminated the sleeves and shortened the hemline. Maybe the most famous little black gown was worn by Audrey Hepburn for "Breakfast at Tiffany's," not to mention the one worn by Betty Boop. Right now, each design guide trumpets the dress being a wardrobe staple for all females.
And it is no wonder. The little black dress is practical, trendy, and appears great on people of all physique types and skin tones. It is slimming and does not draw focus to itself, making it excellent for showing off an accessory or for eluding the male gaze. Edith Piaf, the "little black sparrow," wore simple black outfits so audiences would concentrate more on her singing than her look.

Be sun kissed not sun pissed.....

Ok I know, we've all done it. Your having a couple drinks with your mates and one of you has the bright idea of hitting a club. So you find your tan and slap it on, its streaky, it looks dirty and its a lil all over the shop. But you dont care because you've had a few drinks, and your going out!! Having a streaky horrible tan is perfectly acceptable in this situation. Im sure we've all had an xtina moment at some point.......

However, let me tell ya this.... I was in work today and I saw what I thought was an uncooked chicken with streaky bacon wrapped around it. But as I got closer I saw that it was a 20 something yr old girl with a very bad tan. She was very nearly looking like a tiger. This woman clearly was not drunk so she had absolutely no excuse!! The point Im trying to make to you ladies is that it is very very important to choose the the right colour tan for your skin tone, if you have fair skin get the tan that is made for fair...simple! When you find the tan that is perfect for you, PLEASE rub it in to your skin using a tanning mitt (not your fingers) and apply in circular motions. With whatever tan is left on the mitt, rub it in to your face and hands. Do not put more tan on the mitt, otherwise you'll end up all kat slatery..............no one wants that.

Who else has applied tan while tipsy and thought you looked like her?......
