What I Will Miss About Winter

What Ill Miss About Winter

Spring is here, and even though there is the odd bit of frost and fog there
is no mistaking the change of season, with brighter mornings and a longer
stretch in the evenings, won't be long now until were commenting on the
"Grand bit of drying out" No? Just me that's an oul wan then.
I am totally looking forward to warmer weather, but there are things
that I am absolutely raging that I have to leave behind. This post
is like my little Winter favourites funeral, a way to say goodbye
for another year.

1. Studded Biker Boots: I bought these just before Christmas, and
boy I have worn them so much they have nearly moulded to foot. I wear them
with absolutely EVERYTHING, from jeans and a jumper to lace dresses.

2. Camouflage Jacket: Another item I will miss dearly, this jacket has been a
constant during the cold months, its great for just throwing on in the car as
its not too bulky (I hate bulky coats when I am driving). I love everything
camouflage and even have pink camouflage knickers and bra.. Classy.

3. Scarves: I feel totally exposed at the beginning of Spring with the absence
of a scarf, It takes me ages to get used to it. I absolutely love scarves, and
I use them to kind of hide behind.

4. Dark Nails: I wear a lot of dark shades on my nails in the Winter, and as
clothes get lighter and brighter I will be foregoing dark nails in favour
of bright corals and pinks.

5. Bubble Baths: I think I will miss these the most, My water is heated
by our central heating which is constantly on during the Winter, and to
justify it a bit I keep having bubble baths full of lovely Lush and Pixy
products, there is nothing better. Its too hard to heat the water enough
for a bath in Summer, it takes aaaages, So its bye bye to the bubble bath.

What will you miss about the Winter??

  4. Coats. I like being able to cover up my flab.
Foundation, powder and lipstick. When it gets too hot i can't stand wearing heavy makeup. My eyes water and my eyeliner melts.

  6. Scarves?! No, they mustn't go! They should stay! And bubble baths? It's bound to rain in Britain so there's no need to panic. :) I will miss camoflague jackets though, I missed out on that trend and it's a little late now! :(

  7. Also wear scarves all the time, just thinner ones as it gets warmer. I love scarves, me (mental note: tidy out scarf drawer as it's a great big heap or arsey mess right now).

Dark nail polish? All the time. In fact, I'm more likely (for some reason) to bother with nail polish in the summer than the winter. And I prefer darker shades in general.

Coats - I have a huge big duvet coat. It's a godsend. Cost me an arm and a leg and a few of my back teeth a few years ago. I mean, I bloody hate the thing, but between the fleece lining and the down filling, it's like wearing a duvet. I put it on in November and it doesn't come off until around March/April. I hate it and love it in equal measures. So when Spring comes, I can start wearing my "nice" coats. Which is great.

Agree on the heavy makeup thing - I need a decent coverage but in the summer I hate wearing it. And it's not like I'm a young enough wan anymore to get away sans "tint", as a recent MOTB told me.

On the other hand, I absolutely abhor the cold, and I can't wait for floaty summer dresses. And teeny tiny denim jackets (mental note: start that damn diet). And lots of chunky noisy jewellery. And flipflops with things stuck onto them. And putting the roof down in the car... oh I was born somewhere warm in a past life and I'm paying for some indiscretions or other in this one, I have no doubt.

  8. I'm going to miss wearing my poofball hat ALL the time! I wish hats were more acceptable in summer (although in Ireland winter isn't all that different from summer)
I love your boots, I have a pair a little like them and I'm always wearing them also. They look great and keep my feet dry.....what more can I want!

  10. Im with you on the bubble baths, they're just not the same in summer. I don't even mind trudging about in Winter weather as long as I have a fire, a warm bath with the obligatory bath bombs and candles, fluffy pyjamas and a good book to come home too! I'll miss dark nail polish too, I don't wear it in summer and also the heavier make up you can get away with in dull days! Great post! X
