Garnier "Start Afresh" Refreshing Toner: An Excellent Dupe........For BATTERY ACID

A lot of people skin the toner step when they are looking after there skin, thinking that toners are harsh and drying, but toners have changed in recent years, they have adapted to our new cleansers that don't leave greasy residues on the skin. Now a days toners a light, refreshing and prime the skin for moistuiser. OR SO I THOUGHT.

I have been using toners for years now and I  rarely come across one that I didn't like. I picked up Garnier newly packaged Refreshing Toner a couple of weeks ago from Boots. It only cost around €3.50 but I would never normally spend too much on a toner anyway.

I applied this toner with a cotton pad after cleansing my face and it stung the actual Effff out of my face. I don't have sensitive skin, and I have never had a bad reaction to a product, but this made me feel like my skin was on fire. For hours after my face was roaring red and tender to touch. The next day I had what looked like little red spots under my skin. I tried it one more time after that using a different cleanser but it did the exact same thing. This has gone straight in the bin.

Have you tried Garnier Refreshing Toner?

  1. The only toner I use is the Ali Mac one, I always find drugstore ones sting or react badly with me.

  5. Jeez I haven't ever had a bad reaction to a toner, this sounds awful! I stick to witch hazel now. Far easier.

  10. I really loved the Garnier toners, but it seems with the new packaging they have also reformulated all of them to have alcohols and other skin irritants, even in their dry skin version! I'm really glad I bought a new bottle before they changed them all. Really sad.
